| - The last thing you want to do when driving from LA to Vegas is wait for food... After a 4.5 hour drive, some in traffic, my Vegas sidekick mentioned a local known seafood restaurant located at the Palace Hotel. The hotel is and older hotel and off the strip. With 4.5 yelp stars, it's hard to ignore this place.
The restaurant is a restaurant bar that only seats 18. The line is along a walkway of slot machines. With 18 people deep at 10:00 pm, the wait was about an hour and half.
Standing in line, both tired and hungry, I was questioning our decision to come here as my stomach was growling.
We were finally seated. The two dishes that caught my eye was the bouillabaisse and pan roast. I ordered the bouillabaisse and my sidekick ordered the other. Bouillabaisse came in a mild spice tomato broth with onions, celery, shrimp, crab, lobster, cod, mussels, and clams. Utterly delicious! Honestly could eat this a few times a month. The Pan Roast was delicious as well. It's composed of shrimp, crab, lobster sautéed with brandy, cream, tomato and served with steamed rice. Very good as well but a bit too rich for me. Pan roast could feed two people. Each dish was $23.99. Not bad considering the amount of seafood.
Service here was just okay. Just like most casino restaurants, no sense of urgency. A bit on the slow side. It was about midnight when we left and the line was 15 deep.
Worth a try if you're in town.
