| - If I could give this Budget Rental Car at Sky Harbor Airport NEGATIVE stars, I would. This was by FAR the worst rental car experience of my life. The wait was absolutely insane....we waited an hour just to be called up to the counter. Every time a "prepaid" customer came in, they got to go ahead of all the people who just had reservations and numbers. People with just reservations were screwed! When we finally made it up to the counter, we found out that they were out of most cars. The horribly rude SALES lady at the counter tried to up-sell us on everything. When we refused all of it, she sort of whispered under her breath, that then we'll be waiting awhile because they don't have any cars. Finally, when I raised my voice, she did say that she had one Prius left, if we wanted that. We snatched it up and left, but not before getting in several arguments with her. She basically threatened us if we didn't buy their insurance. She said that if anything happened to the car, that both of our credit cards would be MAXED out, even if the credit limit was $50,000 on each. She argued with everything we said. She was just horrendous. Why someone like this is in a customer service position (although it sounds like, from other reviewers, that they are trained this way), I'll never understand. This will be my first and last Budget Rental Car experience...and SHAME on Costco Travel for being associated with them. That is not good for their business either! Bottom line, if you want a completely miserable car rental experience...definitely go here. If not...I suggest Enterprise or Hertz...or probably others that I don't know about.
