| - I can see why the overall rating for this show (at the time of this review) is only a mere 2 stars... why didn't I look at the yelp reviews for this show before buying tickets? Ahh, I don't know... but anyways, my husband and I purchased discounted tickets from Tix 4 Tonight at the Bills Casino (total was like $140 something or so) so at least it wasn't nearly as bad for those who purchased tickets for full price or the seats closer to the stage.
Anyways, we sat in the 2nd row of the mezzanine section (was surprised at first how good of a seat we got until I realized that there were plenty of empty seats in the mezzanine section, thus being able to get good seats...) and the show started off with a little comedy bit with 3 cirque du soleil performers. Then we watched some videos about Criss Angel and some of the tricks he's done in the past... great to be informed of the background info about him (although I pretty much knew about this before) but would have wished to have seen more tricks over watching the videos (or see those tricks from the video live).
Well anyways, I wished there would have been more tricks overall. The story of this show was at an odd pace and didn't really flow very nicely. I think Criss angel is more enjoyable to watch on TV than in person. Oh and by the way, don't come to this show expecting to see a lot of cirque du soleil style acrobatics/ performances because it is more about the magic (even those it was left to be desired).
The one and only best trick that Criss Angel performed as sawing a woman in half, but would have been nice to see him put her back together. But for one amazing trick, not worth the $140 we paid, even if we had good seats.
Quite disappointed but at least glad we did go and see a show so I guess it wasn't a total loss... But would not recommend anyone coming to see this. Oh and if you do, this really isn't a family friendly show as there are some crude jokes that Criss Angel does (cheesey at best at times). Oh and also for some reason, I felt like Criss Angel didn't even seem to care about being apart of the show. He just kind was out there performing because he had to, not because he wanted to. When the star of the show exhibits that attitude, you know the show isn't gonna be steller. So you have been warned.
