My boyfriend loves Vans so we went in there today to replace his old ones before heading on vacation next month. The clothes often make me feel old when in the store and have never purchased for myself (don't get me wrong - I love their clothes but don't feel age appropriate in them!).
As I looked over the shoes while he tried his on, I observed the sales associate, Brian, helping us. What a great guy - knows the product really well and listened to us as customers. My bf has foot issues from a skiing accident and Brian, after chatting with him for a bit, brought out a few pairs for him to try. While my bf loved his last pair they caused him some discomfort and the new ones suggested are not only comfortable for him, they're stylish.
I also managed to find a pair that appealed to my sense of style and they're unbelievably comfortable. We went in for a pair of man's shoes and walked out with men's, women's and a pair of board shorts.
I haven't had this kind of genuine service in a retail store in a very long time - Brian actually chatted with us as though we'd met him elsewhere and not making us feel like he was just furthering a sale.
