I used to work for Michael Stadtlander, who baked a sourdough bread that was the best bread I've ever tasted. According to him, the sourdough starter he used was brought over from Germany - his native land - when he emigrated to Canada almost 40 years ago, and kept alive till the time I worked for him. Unfortunately, that bread spoiled me, and I became very hard to please. I do like Blackbird's sourdough though it's not as good as Michael's, but St. John's' sourdough was disappointing. They do not have the magic touch, and I would tell you don't believe the hype, but many seem to like it on here and other sites. To me it is just ordinary, not worth the price.I would not go back there again.
