If you've heard the radio commercial for Mark Kia that they will give you 6k for your trade no matter condition etc, its hard not to find this offer alluring. But the offer is bogus, unless you like to throw away money.
Here is how it works:
SCENARIO
You have a 2002 Ford Taurus. You want to trade it in toward the purchase of a new 2016 Kia Sportage. They give you that 6k for your trade and apply it to your new Kia BUT they have already added the 6k back into the total price of the new Kia. Dealerships are not in the business of losing money, they are making back their money by adding that 6k into the final price of the new vehicle. So a vehicle that ought to be 18k, is now 24k + taxes etc.
Steer clear people!
*MARK KIA please do not contact me, I have no interest in communicating with you any further*
