  • You can find better for the same price. Included pics to show how cheap this Best Western is. More low class than other Best Westerns. This lousy Best Western was "remodeled"- charges $$$ more now. Was a low point before and less than mediocre now. I know what to expect with Best Westerns- this one damages their brand- it is more low class than most. Keep expectations very low at Tempe Best Western: *No real swimming pool in Arizona- pathetic. *No printer or computer available at all: No way to print out an airline boarding pass UNACCEPTABLE *Microwave & Fridge are optional. REQUEST ahead of time- might get lucky UNACCEPTABLE *Very, very small bathroom. Like an RV bathroom. Not possible to make smaller *Basic Cable- no options for pay for view *Tiny totally inadequate Air Conditioner in Arizona - UNACCEPTABLE *Elevators have over powering (hold breath) chlorine gas from pool area & oddly slow elevators Impression is kinda cr@ppy not totally sh$ddy. First thing you notice are the slow glass elevators that over look the pool area. Small pools (described in other reviews) wedged near elevator, so if you are in the pool anyone and everyone gets a good gander. Smell of chlorine hits you in lobby when standing next to elevator doors. Soon you will involuntarily learn to take a deep breath before stepping onto the elevators. because of the over powering chlorine AND you will try holding your breath till off the elevators Janitor must be going hog wild and pouring several times the amount of chlorine suggested for the pool area. The bathroom had the toilet wedged nest to the door- you almost have to step into the shower or press against the side of the toilet to open bathroom door and escape. Again fridge and microwave possibly available upon request and possibly not. TV is basic cable and nothing more available. Ice machine on bottom floor, Vending machines on each floor have ramen noodles, BUT again microwave in room is optional. Everything, everything the room is way, way cheap. Booger on wall - I chalked it up to an unfortunate fluke, and scraped it off the wall with my shoe. It was only after having no microwave, and a ridiculously tiny bathroom that I decided to Yelp. THEN no printer Positives: *Standard free breakfast * It's safe *Small gym room [Usually see better breakfasts. Serve your own set up with much better bacon and sausage and eggs. Also fruit- any fruit would have been nice. There were some tiny like 1 scoop plastic spoon sized peach yogurt. No chilled fruit or other fruit. There were hard boiled eggs.] Some guy gave good reviews for it being located next to Denny's. WTF!?! The free breakfast should be OK enough that you don't need to go and pay for a breakfast at Denny's. I'll end with a Haiku to sum up my experience Found a Booger on Wall Scraped off with my new shoe Wow First Impression FYI It is a safe bet that some of the or all 5-STAR reviews here are total fakes, especially if the person positing has no other reviews. There was a Yelp review right after this one where the "person" personally thanks people here specifically. Obvious fake. The reviewer has never reviewed anything anywhere before or since her glowing 5 star review of this cheapo hotel, so someone made up a good review because of all the bad, terrible 1 & 2 star reviews. This place has nothing that rates 5 STARS besides cutting corners of basic quality and service. Again for the price you can probably do better. I have stayed in Best Westerns that put this to shame. For the price you can usually find some place better.
