  • More than anything, I appreciate the effort and all the work that Zak has put into creating this attraction in a City of attractions. This place is very special and best visited when you are in the right frame of mind to properly take it all in. It is far from just a Halloween experience. They did a great job making it suitably special for Christmas. It is a museum, not a Fun House. All of the items on display have purpose and meaning. My tour guide was Stasia, and she was fantastic. My observations: - The House is very big. Plenty of room to house all of these things plus room to add more - The staff is very personable and very easy to talk to. They help to put you at ease in a place where there are several locations that have extreme negative energy attached. As pointed out, there is plenty of positive and negative energy here. It is truly fascinating to see it all under one roof - By far, the most uncomfortable place in the House for me was the very last room of the tour. Stasia pointed out that she will not go in the room nor will she even open the door. I could only spend a few moments in the room because I felt an overwhelming feeling of darkness. This room houses the staircase that was lifted from the Demon House in Indiana that Zak destroyed after filming his soon to be released Documentary. The stairs and the earth from under the stairs is there. You can research what this place is all about and I knew a lot of the background. Stasia pointed out that the house had been used for Necromancy and that more than 200 demons were present in the Indiana location. I can't imagine spending a lot of time in that room. In fact, before we went in, Stasia had a bit of an episode herself from anxiety and heart palpitations just being outside the door. A crucifix above the door was a smart idea - The Dybbuk Box room was unnerving as well. The atmosphere created for this item was especially impressive. A low and ominous sounding Hebrew chanting for protection was playing over and over and we were instructed to remain silent during the tour to minimize any displays of negative energy that may result - The room with Bela Lugosi's Mirror was fascinating as well. It housed a shrine to the woman of the family that built the house who had died in the house. The respect paid to her helped to offset the strangeness felt from an enormous floor to ceiling mirror in the room in addition to the cloaked Lugosi mirror. We were allowed to gaze into the mirror, but I felt nothing special from that. The HUGE mirror was more of a problem. - All of the other rooms had fascinating mixtures of energy. The Cauldron room and the Dead Celebrity room was especially noteworthy for me because of my association with Arnie Klein and Michael Jackson. The Serial Killer room was especially interesting but not as dark. It's amazing what stained glass and images of Jesus will do in the Funeral Room for positive energy. I've never been scared of Circus Clowns or Mannequins or Dolls, so the Peggy Doll exhibit was not dark at all. The minivan from Dr. Kervorkian had a respectful Memorial feel to it as a shrine. All told, I highly recommend this place. In fact, my recommendation would be to offer a VIP Tour where you get to spend as much time as you'd like in all the rooms, allowing you to read everything and properly pay respect to the items. That would eliminate any feelings that the 90 minute tour is rushed. And, include access to the basement which is off limits due to negative energy. I will be back to tour again. On Thursdays, there is a psychic on site for readings and would love to take advantage of that.
