Seeing the amount of 5 stars Binkley's gets, I was really looking forward to a superb experience.
I love how the course menu is catered to each individual at the table, many of the places I've been to for course meals have made the table enjoy the same courses or it is chef's choice.
What I didn't love, was waiting for over twenty minutes, even with a reservation, after being seated to even have a greeting from our server. I had to ask a food runner to grab our server because it was quite obvious if I didn't we would've waited even longer.
Our server was meh. He didn't introduce himself and after he took our order we didn't see him again until he came at the end of the meal to give us our check.
There was a really nice guy who was knowledgable and friendly who provided our drinks for us since our server was no where to be found, but he didn't give us his name either. He was a nice juxtaposition to our server in that he was excited about the food and atmosphere.
I wish I could rate Binkley's higher. The food was great. My squab was cooked perfectly and had a lot of flavor. The baked goat cheese was a palate pleaser to end the night with and the amuse was the best sloppy joe I've ever eaten.
Maybe the many accolades have afforded them to get a little sloppy on the service?
