I'm only rating 1 star because there's no option for less. I truly hope the dishonest employees/owner(s) of this place don't bother responding with lies to my review. This is long but I hope to save even 1 person from the horrible experience I had. I dropped my iPad Air 2 off because the charger cord had broken off in the charging port. My iPad was only about a year old and I've never had any issues with it. I was hesitant to take it anywhere besides Apple, but I read the reviews here and took a chance--bad decision.
Called initially a few weeks ago and spoke with Tre who works there and was told $40 if they could remove the piece and $100 if they had to replace the port and the job would take about an hour. Since some time had passed I called again to see if the price was the same. Arthur tells me Tre/Trent gave us the wrong price. It's $110 and it will take 2-3 hours to fix. I should've known it would go bad then but I wanted to get it fixed, and so we paid the $110 and dropped it off at 12:33 pm and were told it would be ready for pick up at 3:30 and he would call us at that time. Since this place is an hour from my house we decided to hang in the area until 3:30.
Around 3:15 pm we popped in to see if it was ready and Tre/Trent came out. He handed over the iPad but the screen started flashing and it wouldn't stay on. Since this was a "new" issue and the guy who worked on it had already left for the day and Tre was "not allowed to work on it" we were told we had to leave the iPad there and that it would definitely be fixed the next day by noon. According to Tre it was a "loose connection" that needed to be soldered. Needless to say I was not happy and let him know I was disappointed and this was more than an inconvenience. We asked for a refund until we were sure the iPad worked properly which they gave us.
The next day I called around 11:50 am to see if the iPad was working. I believe it was Tre again who answered and he told me it was fixed and they had it on the charger to make sure it would charge properly. He said they preferred to let it fully charge. I asked how long that would take and he said an hour. I told him the drive would take me close to that time so I was on my way. I got there in around 40 mins and a different guy came out. He then tells us the iPad was STILL not working and they needed more time to figure out what was wrong. He could not tell us how long it would take and said they "don't have a lot of experience working with this iPad." SERIOUSLY?! Then why take a $500+ device and ruin it?! Why didn't they call me knowing I was on the way with the expectation that it was working and just needed to charge?
I told him to give me my iPad and that I'd take it elsewhere. I'd had it with their constantly changing stories and clear incompetence. Before I took my iPad here it would still turn on and I could get onto it. Now it won't charge nor will it turn on. These people ruined my iPad Air 2. Had they been honest and admitted they didn't have experience working with that iPad I would have taken it elsewhere. My husband bought me an iPad Pro this morning because my nearly new iPad is now a piece of junk. I would never use this business for anything EVER--Dishonest and incompetent. Use them at your own risk.
