| - First impressions can be misleading. The garage is old and cramped. The elevators from the garage were dirty. I was wondering what we would find inside.
The guest services/players card area is pretty dim. The customer service people were great, though.
I got to the check in area. I love the vibe! The Plaza is an old hotel casino downtown still undergoing renovations. The pool is being worked on but so is the casino floor. But I like where it is headed. Old mob aesthetics - red velour, lots of white lights, red glass doors.
Taking the elevator up to the 16th floor, I found myself lost. When you get off the elevator, you can go left or right and there are no signs to indicate which way which room numbers are located. Found the room and it was a nice large angled room. Super clean but slightly smelling of whatever cleaning products they used.
Two queen beds, lots of room to walk around, an upholstered chair, small metal and glass table (oddly not next to the outlet in the wall so I moved it), a TV, chest and nightstand. No ceiling lights in the room. Retro lamps but not enough of them. One more floor lamp by the chair would have been perfect.
Two pillows on each bed seemed a bit skimpy. But the beds were very comfortable. Best night's sleep that I got on this long vacation.
A sink and closet area. The blow dryer is like a child's toy and doesn't work well. The safe is located in the closet area but was locked.
The tub and toilet are in a very nice sized area. Nice to not be cramped! However, the light in the tub/shower area is pretty dim when you are in the shower.
I would stay here again after the renovations are done. I like downtown better than the strip.
