I finally had the chance to try Carlsbad Tavern out, and I am so happy that I did! The decor was fun for starters. Even the walk into the restaurant was kind of exciting with the running water and the strong cave and New Mexican themes. We got in just before they stop serving dinner (10 PM) and I appreciated that we didn't feel pressured to not to order a meal. They're open until 2 and it sounds like they have a separate late night menu for food. They had some fun sounding mixed drinks too. I tried the prickly pear old fashioned that was super unique and tasty. Not only was the prickly pear a nice twist but it also had Frangelico. All three of us enjoyed our food. I was really impressed with my stacked enchilada. It was super flavorful and filling. I tried my friend's Carne asada NY strip. It was cooked beautifully and was quite tasty. It was spicier than I expected. Our server, Veronica D was attentive, friendly and helpful. She helped make my first experience great
