| - The hotel is like a maze. If you're like me and plan on using a ride share from the airport (Uber/Lyft) then navigating your way from the ride share drop off point to the hotel lobby check in desk is going to be pretty cumbersome. When dropped off at the ride share drop off point, there are a set of escalators. Once you reach the top there are no signs or no direction as to how to check in. There are some signs that navigate you to the "casino" or other various bars. I decided to follow the signs to the casino which led me to what felt like a busy hip night club (NO exaggeration). Imagine a packed night club (I arrived around 10pm on a Monday night) with people partying and dancing while you try to maneuver past them with luggage. Not an ideal situation for someone who just arrived after a 5+ hour flight. Me - I'm trying to maneuver through this club scene to find some sort of registration desk, while trying my best to avoid the awkward looks and stares from the people partying. I legit felt like I was in the wrong location. After walking around the casino/bars/club I finally found the registration desk and checked in. I knew that the resort fee was $34 a night (my reservation was for 7 nights) so I gave the receptionist my card for the fee. The next morning I noticed a charge of $400 - a $130 increase from the $272 that I had planned on for the resort fee. When I was finally able to speak with the receptionist again (the line was a mile long!) she advised that the fee was a hold that they place - in addition to the resort fee - for "incidentals or damages". I advised that when I checked in I was never notified that I would be charged for an additional $130 and asked that the charge be removed - both the receptionist "Becky" and the manager told me that it was impossible because I booked the reservation via a 3rd party and if the manager "could" release the fee it would take 7-10 business days. The manager added that after I checked out the additional $130 would be removed from my bill. I'll update my review later if that actually occurs. While waiting for the manager to speak to me I saw 2 other guests complaining about their bills as well. My advice? Be prepared for charges IN ADDITION to the $34/night resort fee.
Aside from the billing misunderstanding (albeit probably on my end), the staff and all of the employees were very friendly, nice, knowledgeable, and courteous. I'll admit I was little surprised by their friendliness and openness. It was a pleasant surprise.
The rooms are just as described on their website or on TripAdvisor. They were modern, clean, and efficient. It kind of gives off an IKEA vibe. Housekeeping arrived prompt and changed the linens without me having to request their services.
Location is amazing! You are right in the middle of the Las Vegas strip. Everything is within walking distance. Unless you are going to somewhere outside of the strip, I doubt you will need a call or an Uber. I previously stayed at the SLS the last time I was in Vegas, and I had to request an Uber to get to this great location in the middle of the strip.
A few small things... the water pressure is nonexistent, and you can hear everything happening outside of your room. Doors slamming, people talking in the halls... everything. I'm not a light sleeper, but if you are, this is something to consider. Also, and another reviewer mentioned this, if you are over 35 years old, I don't think this hotel is right for you. I'm a 33 year old woman, and the navigation of this hotel plus the people who stay and/or party here are pretty young (I would estimate around 25). When trying to find the lobby I noticed an older woman (probably mid to late 50s) struggling to find the lobby as well. Not to say that people over a certain age couldn't find the lobby from the ride share drop off, it's just a greater hassle.
Overall, I'm not sure I'll be back at the The LINQ Hotel & Casino. It's a great location, friendly staff, but the design of the hotel in addition to the hidden fees and costs, I'm not sure if it's something that I would recommend.
