I had an awkward experience here last week.
I have a nut allergy but I can usually eat out at restaurants without any problems because the kitchen often keeps nuts separate and the staff are well trained in dealing with allergies. However the counter staff here (although friendly) seemed very poorly trained in dealing with allergies and had trouble telling me what I could and could not eat.
Finally I settled on a sandwich that I didn't really even want because it seemed to be a safe choice. The sandwich itself was okay. The bread was good, but the sandwich filling was slightly dry.
On the plus side we were given our coffee and soft drink for free because of the trouble.
