| - I lived here for 3 years when I first moved to the Valley. I had no problems moving in; the rent was cheap for the apartment and the location was great. The new owners then purchased in 2015 and overhauled everything. Green Leaf raised my rent from $550 to $565 the first year (totally legit), then to $580 (again, fine). When Grey Star came in, they raised my rent from $580 to $660 (um, what?) and wanted to raise it again to $725 in a non-renovated apartment so I left in July. I will say that they originally priced this apartment complex way out of their range but have obviously seen the error of their ways and repriced it so that it would keep tenants.
I hope that the new company has been able to find their footing and is now more cautious about the way that they train their staff and handle water shut offs. I agree, those water shut offs were a pain in the butt, but the staff was very honest when I called about it and they were going through MAJOR renovations that would require lots of construction.
This place is well cared for, the management is really nice, and the maintenance staff is always very kind and helpful. I plan on moving back after my lease is up. Oh, and the best part, I have never seen so much as one bug while I lived there, which is more than I can say for 90% of other apartments.
