| - I've been shopping at Ambrosia for over 10 years. The pluses are in the past they've had prices on organic produce and products 25-30% below their competitors. Now the bad news, since their renovation I have noticed a lot of expired products and had the unfortunate experience of not checking expiry dates on things that were always fresh in the past. I believe they must be clearing out their inventory and instead of throwing this stuff out they put it on the shelf. I always keep in mind the owners of this place are Jewish (you can draw your own conclusions). Also since the renovations I've noticed a big jump in prices. For example, baby diapers went from $10.99 to $12.99 to $15.29 in only 3 months. Alot of organic produce is more expensive than elsewhere like bananas $1.29 per pound. Grapes, blueberries and stuff like that are always old and expensive. So I'll get to the stuff I think is priced the best there. Hygiene products like shampoo, soap, face washes etc (some really good deals), supplements like vitamins etc are cheap compared to every place else, flax seeds, pasta, rice and other bulky items, teas, peanut butter (be careful with expiry), baby products (look for deals), eggs, yogurts, winter squashes, honey, maple syrup, bulk bins are very reasonably priced. I find their meats expensive, fresh produce (considering only medium quality...you have to watch because they can have last weeks produce at reduced prices so you have to understand how to check for that). Anyways hope this review helps.
