| - I've taken both my PS3 and my Wii here for repair, for the same issues, disk read errors. Sony and Nintendo will do the repairs for you but they charge so much and take too long, that I think they want you to buy a new unit. They also wipe out your hard drive when they send them back.
Thank god for Vegas Game Repair, because they do the repairs much cheaper and they don't wipe your hard drive. Thanks to Final Fantasy XIII, my PS3 disk drive was toast and we needed someone to fix it fast. Vegas Game Repair only charged $90 (cheap compared to Sony) and it only took a few days. The Wii took a little longer because the repairmen took the weekend off, and, because I was a repeat customer, they gave me $10 dollar off, so I paid $75 for a new disk drive and a new motherboard. Now, after having my Wii not work for over a year, I'm doing Wii Fit and EA Sports again, and got to pick up Mario Galaxy 2. Hooray!
Everyone should bring their broken systems here because Sony and Nintendo (and I imagine Microsoft does too with their yucky Xbox 360) all make their systems break too easily. They fix cell phones too, I may end up visiting them to fix my phone instead of trying to get another.
