| - Since we were in Vegas with an 18 month old (sans interest in gambling,) staying at the Mandalay, the option of going to an aquarium IN a casino was such a fun opportunity!
We went on a Friday afternoon (they close late on Fri and Sat nights!)- there was NO wait to get tickets and the place was hardly crowded.... which was a nice change from the craziness which is the Monterey Bay Aquarium on any given weekend.
There was an option to buy 2 adult buffets at the bayside buffet plus aquarium admission (total of $75 for both for 2 people), which worked out well for us, since we were planning on an early dinner anyway....
The white crocodile, komodo dragon, reef sharks, piranhas (which were confiscated by fish & game in NV b/c they're illegal to keep in Nevada, apparently) were very cool to see.
Honestly? our 18 month old had an awesome time playing with the 'audiotour' thingy which he kept holding to his ear (as if it were a cell phone.)
The stingray touchpool was on of my favorites, they feel so smooshy and spongy- like a wet pancake, ha ha.
For people with kids in vegas (yes, there are a few of us who visit with kids!)--- five stars.
As a date night for couples- four stars, five stars if there are no kids around.
And yes, I caved and bought 2 of the 8x10 photos (for $20), which included emailing 1of the photos to yourself and/or friends and family to share.... which was a nice touch!!!
