| - Had the lunch buffet on a weekday. The variety of food was good as they had everything from (well, the Americanized versions of...) Italian, to Japanese/sushi, to Chinese, to Mexican, and more. Some of the most memorable dishes were the fried chicken and the mussels covered in cheese. I try to stay away from carbs and fried foods at buffets as they fill you up too quickly, but unfortunately that's what most of the lunch items were. The variety of desserts was also really good especially for lunch time, although I was hoping for better tasting ice cream. To be fair, I never did find excellent ice cream throughout this west coast trip. The layout of the buffet was well done as the food stations snake around the floor to prevent long lines from forming at any one place. Since this was a weekday lunch (in late January), there was no lineup, but it got all of a sudden busier when a couple bus-load groups of kids (aged 12 and under) came in. They weren't really being monitored and as you can imagine, their excitedness and hungry stomachs translated to some chaotic moments especially in the dessert area. Lastly, I don't drink but apparently alcohol is included which I've heard is not common at other places especially at lunch. Parking is free and plentiful. For under $20 per person (plus tax and tip), this is great value, but I'm willing to spend a little more next time to get better non-carb, non-fried quality.
