| - My AC stopped working during the night and here it is, the dead of summer with an excessive heat warning today. I called the first AC repair service that came to mind and they said they could come between one and five. In the meantime, I had to stay home from work to make sure my dog didn't overheat, so I got on here to look t other companies. I found Flores who had great reviews (turns out the place I already booked did not have such great reviews) and I got an answer right away when I called just before 7:00am. The owner said he'd call me back with a time once he contacted his technician. I got a call back at about 8:30 and they said they'd be at my house within the next 45 minutes.
Two technicians came and got right to work. As it turns out, the capacitor was broken. They serviced the unit to make sure nothing else was wrong and replaced the capacitor when that turned out to be the only problem. They topped off the freon which was a tad low at no cost, and advised me to have the unit serviced once a year to avoid further problems, and even gave me tips on the which air filters to use and how often to change them to avoid stress on the unit and keep the electric bill lower.
They were very friendly, answered all my questions, finished in about an hour if that, and when all was said and done, the bill was $161 (parts, tax and routine service plus labor). Much better than I was expecting. I would definitely call them again, and plan on doing so for yearly servicing from how on out!
