  • I try to be fair with my ratings and rarely give out 1 or 2 stars, but I'm thoroughly disappointed in this smog location. This was our second stop in trying to get our smog test done, the first one down the street was only $9,99 but had a long wait. This place is $19.99 but had no wait so we figured, what the heck. We had a check engine light on due to a problem with one of our engine fans, we thought we'd pass smog but asked first so we wouldn't have to pay if there was no way we'd pass. The kid (yes he was like 18) said he wasn't sure but that he thought we would... well, we failed. I pulled up a coupon on their website and was able to use it for $17.99, but I was a bit annoyed the guy didn't tell us about it, and that we payed almost double what we needed to to find out we failed. So we leave and go to an auto repair shop to try to repair the problem. We get the check engine light off and try to get the car's computer to cycle through it's testing to reset the codes. We spend all day working on it and go back to have it retested because they told us it was only $9.99 to retest. So we tell them that we're not sure if the engine has completely cycled, but that we think it has, ask if they can hook it up to check before running the test to ensure that it has. The kid tells us no he can't (which was really, "no I won't"). So we pay for another test, only to find out that the car hadn't actually run through a full cycle yet. So we drive another 30 or so miles and bring it back again... this time the kid hooks it up first (which is how I know he could have done it on the second visit), and he says it still isn't done with the cycle. So now nearly $30 later I still have a failed smog test. We go back to the auto repair shop and they hook it up for free and tell us it still needs to go through a cold start - which is next to impossible to do in 115 degree weather. The kid could have told us that the first or second time we went to smog busters,,, but even after the 3rd visit he didn't. We still haven't passed smog, and we won't be doing our 4th test at this location.
