  • Terrible place to go when you're ill! Went here because my health insurance nurse said I needed to be seen immediately and was referred to go to Honor's emergency room. When I arrived in their "emergency" area, there were two apathetic workers that took my info. Seriously, one just sat there like she was ignoring people; the other eventually shoved a pad and pen at me with no explanation. After I completed their form, again they just sat there behind their glass protective wall, oblivious to their surroundings. Eventually, one took my completed form like it was a big imposition, and told me to go sit down. The waiting room was packed; there was even people standing. So, if it's an emergency, and you're at the hospital, do you really want to stand while you wait? I doubt it. But Honor thinks you do. Then, a glimpse of hope...someone calls your name. It's off to triage where they strap your arm to a machine that squeezes it so hard, you literally turn purple. A necessary evil to read blood pressure, you might say? Not when they do it twice and still don't get an accurate reading. What you do get after the pain subsides, however, is finely broken capillaries along your hand and arm. After a few medical questions comes the wait. And the wait....As you sit there and they empty out the waiting room twice without calling your name, you realize nobody bothered to actually examine you to know how serious your condition may be. Thoughts wandered through my mind that I hadn't had in years. The memory of a good friend Who died from internal injuries while waiting to be seen in an emergency room. Gee, I wish they had only one doctor who could pre-exam patients, like they used to do on "Mash." Then after hours of waiting and waiting and greatly missed bedrest, you realize nobody really cares about you here. They may have even forgot about you. Out of desperation, you attempt to address one of the apathetic workers . Staring blankly into your pale face without any sign of human emotion, she repeats the mantra, "we really don't know when you'll be seen. It depends on what comes in the back" and "we take more severe cases first." Then suddenly, you realize that even though they never even pre-examined you, you've been "determined" to be "of lowest priority." Pulling together all the self respect your infirm body can muster, you make a significant determination.. Even though my insurance company's nurse said I needed to be seen immediately at the emergency room, they don't care. So, why should I? I left, went home, took a quick shower to wash off all those newly acquired germs, went to bed with my trusty iPhone in hand. Then, I wrote this review. Now, I feel a little better!
