I went to this patisserie on the Macaron Day. They had a poster in front of the store which says each person can get a complimentary macaron. (http://www.macarondayto.com)
I mentioned Macaron Day to the lady working there, and she said a purchase of minimum $2.35 is required in order to receive a free macaron. I argued that the poster in front of the store says "complimentary macaron" and the store staff denied it. She said it's their own store policy and a purchase is required.
Since each macaron is sold at $2.35 at this location, I said I'm willing to buy one macaron to get my free macaron. The staff said, "sorry, i cannot sell you one macaron. You have to buy 6 macaons or buy something else." When i asked to speak to her manager, she said her manager was not there, so I couldn't talk to her. I was extremely upset because of their "own policy" and the fact that i couldn't even buy one macaron. If they don't want to give out complimentary macaron day, no one is forcing them to participate and post misleading information in front of their store. This is a fraud. They were basically lying to get people to go in. The staff working there was not helpful at all.
