  • Stayed for one night after booking a special deal through their website for a newly renovated "Signature" room. Chose this hotel because of location (airport shutlle pickup spot) and because I'm a Delta Privilege member and wanted the late check-out. Delta hotels used to be the luxury hotel brand in Canada back in the 1980's but unfortunately after checking into this hotel I think they're still living in the 1980's. Lobby did not look properly set-up as there is the Privilege check-in area when you enter but the main desks are behind that and not so clearly marked. Check-in staff was not welcoming but efficient and did not bother to direct me to where the elevators were even though she asked if this was my first stay here (it was). Once I found the elevators, had a long trek to my room which was a quiet corner room that was towards Bay Street. The room was a good size and had probably been renovated but it didn't look new or clean to me. TV was tiny (19" is what it looked like) and didn't always come in clearly. While the bed was comfortable and warm, that was about the only good thing about it. Bathroom was horrible----while it wasn't moldy or dirty it certainly felt that way. The wallboard heating unit was falling apart in the bathroom and the walls looked old and dirty. This hotel is in serious need of a gutting and renovation to bring it up to 3 star standards. Tried the fitness/pool facilities and while the area is quite large and the cardio machines newer, I still couldn't shake that old 1980's feeling so I wasn't comfortable there. Based on the price ($119/night) I wish that I had booked the Intercontinental on Hotwire.com for a couple dollars more as it looked better and also was a pickup point for the airport shuttle. I wouldn't waste my money here unless you wanted to be close to Eaton Centre/downtown and you paid less than $100/night.
