| - Decent facility - it's big, but generally crowded, as it seems a lot of working-age people are there during what would normally be considered the workday. Since there really aren't any other LA Fitnesses in the vicinity, this gym draws a crowd.
There's a lot of equipment & considering the use it gets, the traveling repair guy (who also serves other area LA Fitnesses) does as well as possible given what he has to do. There's also Wi-Fi, which is a blessing & a curse. Often, a member will sit on a piece of equipment, but not using it for the intended purpose - they're checking their Twitter feed or texting. This is particularly annoying during crowded times, which is often. There's a good variety of weights, weight machines & cardio equipment. There's also a pool, a basketball court, a cycling studio, racket ball courts & an aerobics/yoga general purpose room. They offer several classes, which, I believe, do not require an additional fee. There is also a KIDS CLUB that looks like a fun area to leave children while inside (not open at all times) but I think requires an additional fee. Personal Training is also available for an extra fee. There's an on-site snack bar inside.
I've never been inside the ladies locker area, so I can only comment on the guy's side. The lockers are smallish, so there's not a lot of space for very much. And, the area can be very crowded. What surprises me is that many members don't use a lock - so what appears to be a usable locker often isn't. This surprised me having moved here from the DC area, where everyone always used a lock. Also, there may be a single item in a locker & you never know if it's just an item that someone forgot or if the member is in the gym; another possible un-usable locker. There seems to be enough showers, though I'm never there at peak time. There's also a sauna that is pretty decent & usually is working (saunas are problematic). The worst part of the locker room are the sinks - they have electric eyes that allow for only a short flow of water, so because the water stops, getting any hot water from these sinks is nearly impossible. So trying to get a good shave there isn't possible. This issue isn't exclusive to this LA Fitness, as the (many) LA Fitnesses where I used to go had the same sink set-up.
There seems to be plenty of parking & they do a good job of clearing snow, when required. The hours are very decent, though I wish the opening time on weekends was an hour earlier.
The $30ish monthly dues seems reasonable.
