| - With all the good reviews and always seeing a line out the door when driving by, one might think this place is worth trying. And so we did. I'm not usually one to wait but we did since we were excited to try a new breakfast place and one with a Hawaiian twist.
Our wait time was about 30 mins but I also noticed new arrivals being seated before us? Weird. While we waited to be seated we looked the menu over and just couldn't decide, everything looked so amazing.
I settled on 'homemade'corned beef hash with garlic fried rice, my husband had the white chocolate chip macadamia nut pancakes. Well, while the corned beef may be homemade it tasted like the stuff we buy in the can, the fried onions with rice...I mean the garlic rice with onion, whoa! Hours after eating that and brushing and gargling I am still breathing onions and garlic. And when my rice has been sitting in my rice cooker for to long the grains on the side of the pot get really hard and are undesirable to eat, there was alot of those grains in my fried rice.
Now my husband's pancakes, underwhelming to say the least, just no flavor and very dry. He was very disappointed and he LOVES pancakes! He said he'd rather stay home and make store bought mix. This restaurant is named after a stack of pancakes, so why does the syrup come in a condiment cup?
Probably won't come back, which is sad since we love breakfast and especially Hawaiian breakfast (being from Hawaii). Who knows, never say never right? If we ever do go back and it's good I will look forward to upgrading this review.
Oh wait! The staff is very friendly however the servers are so busy we only got checked on once and towards the end of the meal... Good thing we didn't need anything. Two stars for being friendly.
