I'll admit I've only ever had the poutine here, but I'm a repeat poutine customer at J'm la frite as its in my neighbourhood. Usually I've gotten it to-go but one time I dined in with a friend. It's a nice restaurant, clean, nice ambiance. There are several booths that would be equally good for families or for getting lunch with a friend.
I've had the poutine several times over the past two years or so and it's just right (in my opinion; your poutine preferences may vary). A good amount of fresh cheese curds, the fries aren't cut too thick or too thin, and the gravy's not too dark and heavy like at some other places I've eaten. The price is right -- I believe the small poutine (which for me is a generous enough serving) and can of pop I usually get is $9.
Finally, I've always gotten polite and friendly service when I've eaten here. I've taken friends here before and I would do it again if I want to get poutine with them close to home.
