| - I buy shoes for my son here pretty regularly. This time, I also bought a pair for myself.
When I tried mine on, I told the sales person they felt tight, but she said that's how they are and they'll stretch.
So I wore them all day the next day to stretch them out. By the end of the day, my toes ached like crazy - it was clear they were never going to stretch enough to be comfortable. So I packed them back into the box to take back to the store. On the box, I see that the shoes are a size 8. I wear a 9. Yes, I get it, buyer beware...I can't say I've ever had this happen to me though!
I take the shoes back to the store, assuming of course they will exchange them, as they sold me the wrong size in the first place (assuring me "they'll stretch"). I get to the store and "I'm the manager today" tells me that I can't exchange the shoes because A. I tried the shoes on in the store, and B. I wore them. Yes, "I'm the manager today" I can read your return policy. I believe it's my right, as a customer, to expect your associate to grab the right box. So I call corporate and they get my exchange "approved" so off to the store I go to get my size 9s. When I got there, another associate tells me "you should have called the store because we don't have a size 9 here." That's the third time I've been told - as the customer - that I'm the problem here. I was then told that I would need to drive to another location to get the replacement shoes. This is where I drew the line - YOU sell me the wrong size shoes, telling me they will stretch...then YOU refuse to exchange them so I have to call corporate and make an extra trip...now YOU'RE telling me I get to drive all over Phoenix to get the replacement pair??!! At this point, I expect Shoe Palace to ship the shoes to my home (they have an online store, for pete's sake). The guy at the store is stunned - clearly he has never heard of this concept. So I call corporate again. Corporate tells me they'll take care of it, just leave the size 8 shoes and receipt at the store and she'll take it from there. She said she'd call me the next morning. That was two days ago. No call from corporate, no call from the store. I've left three messages with corporate.
Update: Got the same pair online from Champs for $15 less, which includes shipping to my home.
