| - Ok, listen. You already know this place is worth it. The ice cream is bomb, the cookies are good (ok, the oatmeal ain't the best..) and honestly, there's a blackout cupcake that you need in your life.
Now gather round and let me tell you why the people here are also filled with sugar/spice/everything nice.
I got to BB last night at 10:01 pm with my friend who is six months pregnant. We literally ran to get there from Shaw/Harrison (note to self: pregnant women will do a lot to fulfill a sugar craving). The shop was closed, our hearts sunken.
But because I have no shame and the lights were still on, I knocked and caught the eye of a girl inside. "We're closed," she mouthed. I pointed to my friend, mimed a giant belly and implied she might get violent if she didn't get her ice cream cookie sandwich.
The girl/angel opened the door for us and allowed us to get our sandwiches (That choco chunk ice cream with the real bits in it... Hell, yes) and a slice of black and white cake that I was taking back home for my husband.
We thanked her profusely, tipped her, and skedaddled outta there because I knew when an exception was being made and I wasn't about to overstay my welcome.
We sat outside because holy shit there was a spot on those two benches! And we munched along happily, because life is about appreciating the little things. And then our angel came to the door and said the most amazing five words a girl can hear:
"Do you want these cupcakes?"
We learned her name was Haley (which is also my nick name, albeit different spelling, I'm sure) and now there's basically gonna be a baby born in three months named after her because heroes need to be recognized.
