  • I went to Desert Radiologist for a biopsy today. The biopsy (with a needle) was for a mass in the lower left abdomen area. I was so scared!! But... Making the appoint was a breeze, they were informative and gave exact details on what to bring, where to park, what to wear, and a number to call with any questions I may have, etc.I very much appreciated this. The lady at the reception desk was professional and nice. The place was clean and cool with no TV blaring, sticky seats or unpleasant smells. (flashback to another place). Paulette took me in back and prepped me with professionalism, courtesy, compassion, humor and patience. Then Angie came with a wheelchair to the catscan room and had the same qualities as Paulette. When Dr Carducci came in he had the same qualities also! I was so scared and Angie's hand on my shoulder, patting me during the insertion of the needle let me know I wasn't alone. Dr Carducci did the biopsy and I relaxed because I could tell he knew what he was doing. He was through and experienced and explained everything that was going to happen before and during the biopsy. Dr Carducci, Angie, and Paulette gave me instructions for afterwards, what to expect and look for, what to do in case of infection etc. Each aspect of the biopsy was explained in detail. The before, during and after! How many doctors do that?? While in recovery, another nurse (didn't get her name, sorry) asked me if I wanted something to drink, juice, water, or coffee. I heard the patient next to me saying it was delicious coffee! They asked if I wanted the person accompanying me to come back and wait with me till the recovery time was over. This has been the best medical experience ever! If you ever go there tell everyone hello. They will treat you in a way that is sorely missing in today's medical field. Thank you! Wish I could give 10 stars!!!! Karen S 11/16/12
