I have a Whirlpool extended warranty on my 6 month dryer. The dryer started to make a loud unusual noise during the whole drying cycle. Dinos was the first company assigned to come and look at the dryer. Tom came out and stood in the doorway of my shed (where the dryer is housed) and I turned on the dryer. He stated "this is normal sounding dryer. This happens all the time. No repairs needed". I then explained to him how the dryer timer would not stop in the "off position". In other words, the dryer would stop after the cycle it was in but the timer would continue to go around to the next "stop" or two after I removed the clothes. He said he would "check it out". I was not happy with the results of this visit so I contacted Whirlpool for a second opinion. Unfortunately they assigned the same company to come and give a second opinion. When Dinos called and wanted to set up a time to come out, it was Tom (the same tech as the first visit) who would be making the visit. This made no sense to me. If I want a second opinion on something, I would NEVER go back to the person who gave me the first opinion that I was questioning. I told Tom not to come back. He told me his boss said if he came out and made the same diagnosis, they would charge me $115.00. My question remains - if Whirlpool is paying you to make a warranty service call, why would you charge the customer in addition to what you get from Whirlpool?? I called Whirlpool back and they sent out another company, CODE RED (who will receive a 5 star rating from me). Kyle was assigned as my technician. He was superb! Within 5 minutes he had the dryer completely taken apart and replaced 1 pulley which reduced the noise by about half. He ordered a new sensor system to put in and another pulley and replaced those today. The dryer is working like new now and it is not because of DINOS. Very very unhappy with the whole experience (policies and personnel) at Dinos. Look around before you get involved with this company.
