| - The city of Las Vegas has gone down hill severely the past few years. My wife and I have been going there at least once a year since 1994. We both know change in Vegas is inevitable, but now this is a Vegas we no longer find pleasurable to visit. The vagrants, bums, beggers and criminal element used to stay on the north end of the strip. Then they tore down a lot of the north end casinos and all the filth moved to the middle and south end of the strip.
Casinos on the strip lost collectively $664 million dollars last year and this year they are down 12% from that. Instead of turning back to what built Las Vegas, which was the middle class dropping a grand over a weekend. People came out for inexpensive food, cheap alcohol and to gamble a thousand or so. Now the powers that be want to reinvent Las Vegas with expensive dining and by the bottle dance clubs.
Now the expensive dining isn't at fault for turning Las Vegas into a den of thieves, crooks, criminals and drug dealers, but the by the bottle dance clubs are. I've been in law enforcement for 28 years and it doesn't take a detective to know when drug deals are going down in broad daylight. Not to mention other criminal activities.
The entire week we were there we only saw two cops, but witnessed numerous illegal activities. You can basically say, there was no police presence. Added with the drunks, drug addicts, thugs and beggers roaming the strip it didn't make for a pleasant time. I know we won't be going back until they have cleaned up their garbage.
