  • Brought my dog back inside after just a few minutes in our yard. She came in violently snorting and heaving and started developing a foam around her mouth. I live less than a minute from this clinic in the Elvehjem neighborhood so I decided not to waste any time and got her there right away to get help. My impression was that she was choking (maybe from an object or allergic reaction). I walked into the clinic carrying my dog and although I was feeling panicked, I stayed pretty calm. I said to the lady who was sitting at the desk, "There is something wrong with my dog...I think she might be choking!". This woman put up her hand and said, "Whoa!...are you even a client here?" (Yes, I am. My older dog sees this vet) And that's just the beginning of the rabbit hole I was flung into because I had the nerve to visit my local neighborhood vet for help in an emergency. Long story short...she did NOTHING to help me, but I found help elsewhere and my dog is fine now. A little advice tho...don't visit this place in an emergency unless you made an appointment before it ever even happened because this lady doesn't like "walk ins". ---I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I have dealt with Dr. Joe in the past and he is a nice, caring vet. Why he has this woman representing him at his front desk is beyond me, but SHE is the reason I will NEVER be back!
