  • I'm in the process of helping my daughter buy her first car. I came across a Toyota Prius at this establishment. We test drove the car, and it seemed fine. My daughter was interested in the car. Upon asking more details about the car's history, that's when things took a turn. I was told by one of the salesman that they did an in-house inspection, but then threw it away once they deemed it fit for sale...huh? So I asked for more...they produced a carfax report, which showed that the car was previously stolen and retrieved during the ownership of the second owner, last year. Jaber Auto tooth car to the Toyota dealership recently, because of a recall currently in place. I asked for a proper inspection done, got some push back, then they agreed (after asking the owner of the establishment for permission) to do it...at my expense. $110.00 dollars later, it was found: the water pump and serpentine belt needed immediate replacement( a $600 and 3hour ordeal); the windshield wipers and two front tires need to be replaced( tires due to rot)...all-in-all it was approx. $1300 worth of work that needed to be done. The interesting thing is how shady these people got suddenly. Every time I ask a question, I would get: 'We are a small dealership,...we have a great reputation...I've been in the business for 20 years... no one asks those questions...," and I was passed on to a very nice, clueless finance lady, then to the arrogant GM. He kept cutting me off as I spoke to him, disregarded my concerns and then proceeded to tell me he could get cheap aftermarket stuff to fix the car. What caused me to walk out of negotiations with the GM was mainly his attitude, and him basically not wanting to reduce the price of this over priced car, and, more importantly, disregard of my concern on the safety of this vehicle-this is for my child after all.... Be very wary when dealing with these people. Do your due diligence, and proceed with high caution. Cheers.
