First, I would like to thank YELP and the Le Mont for hosting this lovely event. This was my first visit and somehow I managed to enter through the back door! The staff helped direct me to the lounge. I considered having a drink except the bartenders were preoccupied when I tried to get their attention on a few occasions.
Our event was held in a private room overlooking the city of Pittsburgh. Unbeatable view! The tables had impeccable settings which included plates emblazoned with the Le Mont name. Our server Dani was knowledgeable with 18 years of experience at the restaurant.
I enjoyed both the white and red wines presented with our meal.
The meal was average to me. I had a salad to start with house vinaigrette. As a main course I had the surf and turf. The steak was basic with no flavor and I felt a little embarrassed to ask my server for A1 steak sauce but everyone at the table said at least I didn't ask for ketchup! I would have liked the potatoes to be creamier and more cheesy. They were on the dry side. Half of my vegetables were undercooked while the other half was just right.
For dessert I had the funnel cake with pumpkin latte ice cream. There were 4 of these desserts presented to the table and none of them were plated in the same fashion. The cake was very hard and not a fresh funnel cake. The ice cream and whipped topping were the best part.
Overall it was a lovely evening meeting new people and I enjoyed the atmosphere.
