| - I think it's important to point out that most of the 4 and 5 star TTC reviews are from out of towners.
What does that tell us? Well, I don't know about you, but it tells me that Torontonians are overall very frustrated with their public transit. It also tells me that out of towners are nuts. :)
Joking aside, it's a common thing to see how the subway is always greener on the other side, but from a semi-regular user of the TTC, I've found it to be sometimes ok, and othertime not ok. The main problem is not ever knowing when the next street car is going to come. I could write you a 10,000 word essay on how awful the College Streetcar is, but I could also write about how reliable the Dufferin bus is.
There's talk about instituting LED tickers at various stops around the city, using the GPS system the streetcars already have installed to provide a "next streetcar arrives in..." system. In theory, it's an amazing system, and knowing when the streetcar or bus will arrive will help you decide if you want to wait or walk.
But until that system is there, the TTC is an expensive and unreliable option for getting around the city.
