| - So I wish that yelp would allow people to use half a star ratings as well, because this really should be a 2.5 rating, I was actually going to give them a 3 star rating to give them the benefit of the doubt, but as i was doing so i just remembered that they forgot the cornbread i ordered, so i put it back down to a 2. That's pretty much the theme of this rating. The restaurant itself is nice, it's a cute little spot that's somewhat trendy, a little loud and busy but nice. My boyfriend brought it to my attention as he saw it mentioned on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives" and said that he wanted to try it out because the food looked amazing. After glancing at the menu I was excited and made a reservation for that evening. When we got there we were seated promptly. A server who was not our actual server brought us our water and told us that Sidney our server would be with us shortly. That shortly was about 5-6 minutes later. When he showed up he asked us if we would like a drink and we both ordered 2 drinks and then he started to walk away and i had to stop him to ask him to order an appetizer too. We ordered the Baked Goat Cheese (which is exceptional!- probably the only good thing about this experience). It took a little longer than normal to get our drinks. When they came, my boyfriend asked what the soup was, our waiter told us, and he ordered a cup of the soup and we also ordered our meals and i ordered a side of cornbread. A few minutes after we ordered our appetizer came to the table - this was actually the only thing that we received in a timely manner. The bread was amazing, the baked goat cheese had an awesome flavor it was great. we finished the appetizer and the soup still had not yet arrived. one server walked by I asked if she could check on the soup. another 3-4 minutes passed and I spotted our server from afar look at our table (I noticed him doing this multiple times during the dinner- looking from far away, yet not actually approaching the table.) finally about 3 minutes later he came over with the soup. No apologies, just brought it, 17 minutes after we had ordered it. I had to ask him to please refill our water. when we finished he grabbed the soup dish and ignored our empty drink glasses. after about another 7 minutes or so, then he came by to tell us our food should hopefully be the next one up as he started to walk away i had to stop him to ask him for another drink. About another 5-7 minutes passed (and please make note i'm not the type of person that stares at my clock every few seconds, but i do notice when things take a while. there were 13 tables, 3 servers and a manager that were working the floor along with a bartender.) While waiting for my drink the manager came over to the table next to us to tell them that their chicken had been burned so she offered to bring them an appetizer or a salad for their wait. They got the salads which came out before we got our main entree's.10 minutes after the "your food should be the next out comment" our food got to the table. My drink still had not. Another instance where I noticed our server from the other end, look over at the table, realize the drink wasn't there and go to the bar to get it. The food was good. the waiter never came over to check to see how it was, when he brought my drink over i asked him for a menu because we wanted to order something to go to (my bf works graveyard and we wanted to grab him something). I also asked him to please get us some more water. He left, grabbed us a menu and filled up our water. he showed back up about 5-7 mins later to ask if we decided on what we wanted to order to go, we ordered a flat bread (which was also quite delish). a few minutes later he comes back with the bill and a comment card, I have to ask him again to fill up the water and i gave him my card. he left to run my card and promptly dropped it back off. I then started filling out the comment card. Now all of a sudden he seemed to take notice. We waited a slight while for the flatbread to come out, and because he noticed me filling out the card, for the first time came by and filled our water glasses without us asking. (I think we had to call him over at least 5 different times, which is a little excessive). The manager was next to the table that had the burnt chicken and asked how everything was. She never turned around to check on us or anything, but when she was clearing off their salad plates, i asked her if i could please give her the comment card. She said, yes and walked off and we proceeded to leave. The manager to her credit, did come out and stop us to ask us what she could do to make things better, adjust the bill, gift card, etc, we politely declined as my bf had to go to work. I do give her credit for trying, it was just too little too late. The whole experience just left us with a bad taste. - Oh and as previously mentioned, they never brought my cornbread.
