I ordered a couch to be delivered to my new apartment at 1-5PM the next day. I went to my apartment and waited from 1:00PM to 3:45PM, but no one came or called. Sensing that something was wrong, I called the number IKEA provided on the work order. I was placed on hold for 35 minutes. When I finally got someone on the phone, they forwarded me to the delivery company. They told me that I had been placed on the "same-day" delivery list, so my couch would come sometime between 5PM and 9PM. He said IKEA should have contacted me to tell me this. But they didn't. Instead I wasted half a day waiting in an empty apartment.
The delivery company got a representative from IKEA to call me back. She was initially very rude and not the least bit apologetic. She said they would not waive the delivery fee and offered instead a $20 gift card. She treated me as if the whole thing were my fault.
She did call back later, however, to say that IKEA would refund the delivery fee and that she would guarantee that we would have the first delivery the next morning. So consider this a 1.5 star review that has been rounded down.
The people working at the IKEA in Pittsburgh are incompetent and rude. Customer service for IKEA in general is atrocious. Don't go here unless you have no other options, and, if you do, don't ask for a delivery.
