  • Park MGM has a long way to go for me to come back. I wanted to be wow'ed and it didn't happen. Room - we had a standard room that was recently remodeled. VERY simplistic. Pretty small. Yeah, I get it, it's cool because it's "modern." But that doesn't mean it needs to be so sterile. Very odd table in the middle of the room that looks like it came out of the conference center. Very few places to put things or set things gown. Wife went to take a shower before we hit the shows and stepped on someones hair. The ball of hair did not come from someones head. I heard a scream. Housekeeping came to clean it and they were grossed out. But it took over an hour. Minus the hairball, the shower looked nice, but could use more water pressure. And there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom, just a weak vent so the mirrors fogged. I will say there is a metal tower that stores you towels and soap. I can not guess how many times this will be knocked over against the glass shower walls and will break the glass. Bed was just okay. A little on the firm side, but that's probably because it was on a hard foundation. Very low to the ground. Pillows were okay too. I prefer a little more firm, but that's me. Room temp was a big problem. It never cooled down. They installed motion sensing thermostats, but in a fit of genius they point them at the couch that is in front of the window. So when you go to sleep, it thinks you are not in the room and therefore doesn't cool down. We called maintenance and they said they fixed it. Nope. No mini-fridge. No drinking glasses. No ice bucket. I'm sure the last two were an oversight. No dresser or place to put clothes except for the barn-door closet. And in there is the worlds smallest night stand. Grounds - I like the new color scheme, but the hallways to the rooms are dark. My wife said she would not stay here alone. There is very little you can do here. Only 2 restaurants and 1 bar (that I could find). Exit to the strip is not intuitive, you exit out an alley and walk along construction. Check in - welcome to the digital age, there are very few staff to check you in. Enter you name and confirmation number on a screen and you will get your room keys. Pretty quick, but if you like to ask for "upgrades" like I do, they were not receptive at all. Nice people, just didn't seem to want to hear it. Parking - you will pay for it. With the *mandatory* resort fees you this just feels like a cheap gimmick to get more money. I will say the parking garage is huge and has a cool spot available lights. But during T-Mobile arena events, the garage will be *very* full. WiFi - it works but went down several times for a few minutes. Mostly aggravating as my wife needed to get some work done. TV - big, nice picture. The shortest list of channels I have ever seen. Rabbit ears would have doubled the number of stations. Other Guests - our floor was pretty quiet, but the overall general vibe around the place was not quite our style. Too many rowdy drunks. Everywhere we went there were groups of people yelling for unknown reasons. I get it, it's Vegas. But we have stayed in many other hotels and have not experienced that. Someone relieved themselves in our hallway. Lovely. I will add, if you can get a room here at a very low price, it's not bad. At least everything is new an doesn't smell yet. I expect, over time, many of the little things will be fixed or improved. But for now, I would steer clear. After all the issues, I spoke with guest services and expected a little something my way in order to entice me to come again. We are in Vegas every couple of months. He comped us one day of resort fee. Wow. No offers to move us to a nicer room (there were plenty of vacancies). Nothing. They were nice, just not too concerned with having us back again. Therefore I will oblige.
