Millie Creperie's second location focuses on pastries, pudding cups and gelato.
Location: in the entertainment district and close to some of good restaurants. Perfect place to have desserts or drink after meals.
Decor: more spacious than Kensington Market location. It has a classy look. Seating is more comfortable. I can imagine myself having a good time with my girlfriends there.
Service: service is always friendly and customer focus.
Food: I have tried three items on their soft opening day - Yuzu mousse cup (not sure the official name), black sesame tart, Matcha azuki cheese cake.
Yuzu mousse cup is a refreshing desert. Both jelly and mousse has a strong Yuzu flavour. If you love Yuzu (Japanese citrus) it is the dessert you will want.
Black sesame tart - the black sesame filling is moist and tasty. It has a hint of black sesame and is not as rich as the black sesame paste/sugar soup you will get at Chinese dessert house. Yet it is well balance with the tart crust. I think they don't make as rich as the Chinese one because of targeting the local customer.
Matcha Azuki (red bean) cheese cake - it is my personal favourite. Matcha cheese cake and red bean mousse go so well. They don't overpower each other. I always think Millie makes very good red bean paste- very creamy and rich taste. I would say this take a must try items.
I also sample one of the new gelato flavours - lychee and guava. The taste is very refreshing and perfect for the summer.
I also spot some interesting items at this location: cream puff with gelato, champaign and strawberry Mille crepes cake, strawberry shortcake. I would love trying them in my next visit.
