I ordered a cake for my daughter's Quinceanera and this is what it looked like upon my arrival. It continued sliding and guests were asking me if I knew the cake was about to fall over. I had to ask the staff to remove the cake from the floor and start slicing it before it was an even bigger disaster. My daughter never even got to do her cake cutting ceremony or blow out candles. The cake not only looked bad, it was completely dry and not flavorful at all.
The owner told me that her staff was new and she didn't trust her employees to deliver the cake the morning of the party so she would take it the night before because she was busy on the Saturday of the party.
I wanted to give a new, small business an opportunity but I should have gone with a professional. I contacted her and sent her a picture of the falling cake and let her know that I wished she would have just told me she was busy and not even accepted my order. Her response was, "I wasn't too busy...maybe your topper was too heavy."
I wasn't even asking for a refund, just letting her know how disappointed I was. Instead of apologizing, she made excuses. If you want a good tasting, nice looking cake for your event from a professional bakery; do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
