  • I can't believe I haven't visited here sooner. Now, this is a bold statement, but this might be one of the best Ohio record stores. If you're a music lover the way I am, bookmark them, now. Go on! I'll wait. There were several things that stood out to me immediately about The Vinyl Groove Records. First and foremost, the selection is crazy legit. They have a wonderful mix of used AND new. So often, at record stores, I feel like you either get one or the other... vinyl so obscure and old that the packaging is falling apart or a very limited selection of "hip" new LPs that are $30 a pop. TVGR transcends both of these with a well-curated, fun and large collection of old and new that isn't overpriced. The gentlemen working, Sam and Dave, were also very knowledgeable. I thought it was really cool when customers would ask for their opinion on an album, and they could provide a descriptive explanation on the spot (meaning, they know their music). I cannot stand when record store employees don't actually know the music they sell, so when someone can rattle off a sprawling description of a band I've never heard of from the 1980s, color me impressed. After hearing this pleasant exchange, I asked if they had any Sleater Kinney. They said no, but were kind enough to hop on the computer and order it for me at a reasonable price. Also, I was nearly bursting with happiness that I didn't have to spell Sleater Kinney, explain who they are or beg someone for assistance. They just naturally wanted to be helpful. Also, lots of happy customers were bustling in and out with record players in need of fixing. Overall, I just got really great vibes from this place. I still can't get over that it's in BEDFORD, but its safe to say I'll be buying more of my records here. They really care about their customers and the experience!
