During the property tour and meeting with the Manager (Brenda at that time) things went smoothly. The website portal that you have to use for the initial lease needs an overhaul as it is not user friendly. However, we managed paid the security deposit for my mom along with the administrative fee. We told all at the beginning we were looking for an apt for my mother before going to her guardianship hearing in another state.
Once the hearing was over and we had to move my mother here and due to her decline cognitive abilities that we were not aware of (advanced dementia) we contacted DSV and notified them that she was not able to live alone and would be living with us and she would not move it. This was about 3 weeks before her lease was to begin. A doctor's note with her condition was also produced. We were notified that we would not receive the administrative fees back (was expected) but that we would get the deposit back. This was over a month ago. Numerous emails to the Manager and Asst Manager have not been answered and calls have not been returned. I did get through on Friday and a part time intern answered, spoke to the manager who informed him to tell me that she would call by Tuesday morning. Of course, no call has come in and the status of the refund remains a mystery.
After this experience I am truly happy that it didn't work out for my mother to live there if this is how management works.
