I was in recently for a color touch up. I had my children with me and they were made to feel like they weren't welcome ( not the first time that's happened. I'm a stay at home mom and I often take my kids when I run errands an such. They sit quietly playing on a phone. They weren't doing anything to cause a disturbance. Another young girl (around 4 years old) was in getting her hair cut - it was very curl and had not been taken care of and was tangled. She was in tears and afraid because it normally hurts when her hair is combed. They stylist was telling her not to cry - to basically "suck it up" and not being sensitive to a child's unique needs.. I've been in for previous cuts and explained how I wanted my hair cut but it was cut how the stylist wanted it cut (how she thought it should look). There are not many places that specialize in curly hair so I often - reluctantly go back even though it's an unpleasant experience. I'm constantly on the search for another stylist.
