We were staying in the Cosmo for the weekend and stumbled up on Jaleo for some lunch. The five of us gals grabbed a high top table and perused the menu.
We ordered:
- Jamón ibérico de bellota Fermín
- Anchoas españoles
- Pan de cristal con tomate fresco
- Ensalata Xato
The highlights were of course, the beautiful ibérico --salty, fatty, melt in your mouth. But the sleeper of the dishes was the Pan de cristal con tomate fresco. It was described as toasted slices of uniquely crispy and ethereal bread brushed with fresh tomato. "Uniquely crispy"??? But seriously, it was. Light, airy and perfect!!!
To wash it all down, there was lovely chilled cava.
Overall....it was pretty good but very pricey. I do adore Chef Andres but I'm not sure I'd come back to Jaleo.
