| - Update to previous review: Here is Mr. Hackney's response to my BBB Complaint
Chris calls our company the last week of June 2017 and states his unit won't cool. He sends us a picture of his tstat and it shows the temp in his house is 77 degrees but set at 73. We explain that Arizona is also having record heat that week. He states he wants a technician to come out. Our technician arrives and checks the unit. Our tech tells Chris the unit is cooling properly. It was explained to Chris that sometimes a/c units act up intermittently. The next day, Chris calls our office and says unit isnt cooling at all. Another tech arrives and finds the unit cooling properly. Then a few days later, Chris goes to our company facebook page and leaves a 2 star review stating he is going to call another a/c company to look and fix the a/c unit. I responded to Chris that since he stated he was going to call another a/c company to fix unit and left us a 2 star review, that we would no longer provide any future service or repairs. Chris states the other company finds that a copper line has been pinched/kinked several times. The other a/c company has tried to fix this unit, all of a sudden there is a kinked line that appears to have been deliberately sabotaged and kinked/pinched with a tool in several places. It was Chris's decision to have another a/c company over repair the unit. Now this other a/c company recommends to replace the a/c unit that is only 7 years old and still has 3 years of parts and labor warranty available? That is ridiculous and suspicious. Hackney Inc is not contractually obligated to service or repair this unit. Chris and this other a/c company blame our company kinked this copper line? These are allegations and the photos show obvious and deliberate sabotage to the unit. The unit was cooling when we arrived and when our technicians left. Chris was notified.
1. Unit was not cooling. Unit continued to fail until the temps in the house reached 89 degrees.
2. Wasn't record heat that week. Temp outside was only 106. Unit was working fine and kept the house at temp when it hit 121 the previous week.
3. Did not say I was going to another company, said I was tempted. Instead of calling to attempt to resolve, Mr. Hackney blocked my calls and responses to him on Facebook. Doesn't show very much customer service commitment to me.
4. Other AC Tech did not fix the unit, only evaluated what was needed to be done. Hackney is trying to point the finger away from their own doings and blame it on someone else. Another ploy from someone who doesn't know how to run a business.
5. I purchased a new unit from a reputable company and when they removed the Goodman, I looked at the inside which was all covered in a thick coat of ice. A sure sign of low freon and or totally clogged coils (they were). If they checked out the unit, they would have seen the clogged coils. But instead, they decided to overlook that because it was blowing cool air..(barely).
Don't go to these people, they'll rip you off now that Drew Jr. is in charge.
