This is one of the few Japanese restaurants that is actually operated by Japanese people (majority are Chinese). That is not to say Chinese operations are bad (I'm Chinese btw) but I find the Japanese one's more authentic as they are more meticulous in both preparation and presentation. However, they do tend to be more expensive and offer less quantity so be warned if you are hungry like Kobayshi (Google him if you don't know who he is) and expect large portions.
I've been here several times over the past couple of years when we don't want to venture too far from our area (work near Yonge-Bloor) and if I'm not too hungry. Items are pretty much a la carte and the bento boxes are decent portions but pricier than other places. The service is typical Japanese... very efficient and servers are pleasant. 4 star rating.
