| - I have adopted at least 6 different animals from here over the past few years. 2 dogs, a bunny, a turtle, and 2 cats.( all alive and well ) When I was a kid I wanted a farm, because that's what we had back home in Belize. But now that reality has set in, I just fill my home and back yard full of what I can. HOA doesn't have a clue! Lmao.
Anyway, enough rambling. Off top, this is NOT a "no-kill" shelter, which means they DO euthanize animals! So it's up to us as humans to do something about it... ADOPT! The staff here is always friendly and informative. Even after the adoption process they keep in contact and email information about your pet. I still get emails from my 1st adopted dog over 5 years ago. Every animal is spayed and neutered. I don't agree with "fixing" animals, but I guess it's for population reasons. First set of shots are done beforehand. You have the option of bringing them to a vet within 5 days of when you take him/her home. They ask you to come back for 2nd set of shots in a month or so. They also microchip your pet, which I totally am a fan of. Lots of new and familiar faces working here since way back. That's always a good sign. I'm getting another cat, a 5 month old Black cat to be exact. Forget the superstition, they are a good omen and unfortunately the last to get a home for that simple reason. Can't wait to take the kitty home! I will return late next year or early 2017 to adopt another pet. Maybe a pig next time...who knows, I'm silly like that, silly!
