I took my six year old son in for a high fever. He was miserable and tired after not feeling well for a couple days. The receptionist was not friendly at all and the people in and around the front desk talked very loudly with the people on each side of the desk. There was a nurse there that was being treated for a toe injury and they were all very loud and unprofessional.
Once we were called back, my son needed a strep test. He started to get upset because he knows how unpleasant they are. I was talking to him and calming him down when the other nurse got frustrated and said to him, "if you don't do this test you have to go to the hospital." She also told him he had to lay down for the step test. She should know better than to threaten a kid with a trip to the hospital and I've never heard of having to lay down for a strep test. Can you imagine how much worst a throat swab would be while you were laying down??
The doctor who saw him was fine. I will only go back to this location on as a last resort. I hope the staff receives some extra training on dealing with people who aren't feeling their best and professionalism.
