I recently purchased a GROUPON for round-trip fare to PHX Sky Harbor. Prior to our use of the coupon I read numerous reviews--both positive and negative-- and contacted Xavier Limo with no expectations. I emailed and left a phone message and received both an email and voice confirmation for my reservation, as well as reminder calls prior to both trips. The drivers called to reconfirm the pickups and time, were timely and courteous. Our transport was smooth an easy.
My issue came in the follow through. I had paid for the Groupon with my credit card and was then asked for a credit card to hold the reservation. Upon return from our trip I noticed an additional $26.00 charge to my card. In investigating this additional charge I was told that it was for mandatory gratuity and that I had been informed of it at the time of the reservation. Unfortunately, I don't remember this at all. Naturally, we tipped the drivers in cash. In the end, the Groupon didn't save me as much money as we over-tipped. I write this only to make others aware.
